Our Mission
Our mission is to identify and assess the substance prevention and safety needs of
children, youth, adults, and families in an ongoing process. The Network will develop,
maintain, and carray out a plan to address these needs. We will coordinate with all sectors
of the community to plan, implement, and evaluate evidence-based strategies to prevent:
- substance use and abuse
- child abuse and neglect
- unintentional injuries and death
- youth violence
The Network can accomplish this mission by enhancing those factors while reducing those
factors that increase risk.
Our Vision
The citizens of Kittitas County live in a community where agencies, businesses, and
community members partner together to maximize the use of resources and create solutions
for a safe and healthy environment for all ages.
About Us
The Kittitas County Community Health and Safety Network began in December 1994,
in response to the Youth Violence Reduction Act, to assess at the local level issues
around problem behaviors effecting children, youth, and families in the community.
Since that time, the community has identified substance use and abuse as the common
denominator of problem behaviors impacting the health and safety of the community.
